Apple Pay: Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I add my card for use with Apple Pay?
- Open the “Wallet” app on your device and select the “credit and debit cards” section.
- Take a photo of your card to automatically enter your information. Next, enter the three-digit security code found on the back of your card.
- You can always enter your information manually, which might be necessary if the camera does not automatically recognize your card.
- For security reasons, you may be asked to take an additional measure to verify your card, including a phone call to RCU or an additional code.
- You will receive a notification from Passbook within 48 hours once you’ve successfully completed the process. You’ve now added your card to Apple Pay!
- How do I use Apple Pay?
- Simply place your finger on the Touch-ID fingerprint scanner of your iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, or Apple Watch and hold it near a compatible receiver when prompted by the cashier.
- You can also use Apple Pay within certain apps with a scan of your fingerprint.
- If you have multiple cards uploaded for use with Apple Pay, hold your device near the receiver and select the card you would like to use, then place your finger on the fingerprint scanner to complete the transaction.
- Where can I use Apple Pay?
- Apple Pay is available in more than 220,000 stores and restaurants whose payment terminals are set up to accept Apple Pay.
- More retailers are adding the technology to receive payments from Apple Pay – look for the Apple logo at the point of sale, or ask the cashier.
- Check Apple’s Apple Pay site for a list of retailers accepting Apple Pay.
- Is Apple Pay secure?
- Apple Pay adds a unique layer of security by using a digital version of your card for payment. We are confident in the technology, and we will continue our ongoing efforts to provide for the security of all of your accounts (whether used for Apple Pay or otherwise).
- Does RCU charge for using Apple Pay?
- We offer Apple Pay free of charge.
- Will my Redwood Rewards points accrue when I use Apple Pay?
- When you use your RCU credit card with Apple Pay, you will accrue points as normal.
- If you are using an RCU debit card with Apple Pay and do not enter a pin during the transaction, you will accrue points.
- Do all RCU cards work with Apple Pay?
- All RCU Visa debit and credit cards are compatible with Apple Pay.
- You can add multiple cards
- What if my phone is stolen?
- Without your fingerprint, it is impossible for another person to use Apple Pay on your mobile device. We still recommend that you access online banking or call RCU to cancel your card. We can mail a replacement, or you can have a card instantly issued in a branch.
- Once your card is canceled, it cannot be used for Apple Pay. You should also contact your mobile carrier.
- What if my RCU card is stolen?
- Delete the card from Apple Pay using your device.
- You can access online banking to cancel your card, or contact us to cancel your card.
- We can instantly issue a replacement card in any Branch, or send one in the mail. Add the new card to Apple Pay.
- Remember – you are not liable for any fraudulent transactions, so review your account activity and contact us for help.
