Overview
Our commitment to the community is shown through volunteering, sponsorships, fundraising, and partnering with organizations to strengthen their efforts.
The Redwood Credit Union Community Fund (RCUCF) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization established to improve and support the communities we serve.
RCUCF is committed to community well-being and uplifting underserved populations by promoting economic inclusion through a variety of impactful initiatives. Programs range from financial literacy education and affordable housing initiatives to robust support for small businesses, all designed to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
RCUCF focused giving areas include disaster relief, disaster preparedness, and environmental stewardship; financial well-being; housing; and community wellness.
Shred-a-thons
Every year, we offer free shred-a-thon events for our local community members to securely dispose of sensitive documents and electronics.

Day of Impact 2023
Team members assembled 418 bicycles for children at 11 nonprofits in 22 communities.
Healthy Planet Project- School Clean Up
Team members planted trees, removed trash, pruned plants, and beautified the grounds for the school year.
Volunteering at Our Local Food Banks
Monthly volunteering at Redwood Empire Food Bank and Community Action Napa Valley Food Bank.
Bite of Reality
RCU hosts financial education workshops for high school and college students as well as adults. Learn more.

Team members walked the parade in 1950s costumes to celebrate our founding year.

PPP Forgiveness Application Deadline
Congress passed The Economic Aid Act which changed the deferment period from 6 months post covered period to 10 months post covered period. For example, if your covered period ended June 30, 2021, under the new guidelines the earliest your first loan payment wouldn’t be due until April 2022, and you have until then to request forgiveness. Please use the following calculation to help you identify when your forgiveness will be due:
- PPP borrowers may select a covered period anywhere from 8 weeks to 24 weeks.
- RCU is automatically calculating your loan due date based on a 24-week covered period, if you intend on using a shorter covered period please inform us immediately as this will impact your due date.
- Your correct deadline will be reflected in your online banking account.
If all or part of your PPP loan is not forgiven, your first loan payment will be due the first of the following month after a decision is made by the SBA.
