Local Community Gets Free Financial Lessons from “Money Rules” Author Jean Chatzky

Rohnert Park, Calif. — On Thursday, October 22, 2015, Redwood Credit Union (RCU) offered a free financial wellness seminar with well-known author, TV personality, and personal finance expert, Jean Chatzky. Nearly 900 guests attended the event at Sonoma State University’s Green Music Center, ranging from students to those of retirement age. RCU offered the event as part of its ongoing effort to promote financial literacy.

Known for her straightforward personal finance tips, Ms. Chatzky covered a range of topics, including setting financial goals, protecting your investments, and the importance of giving to others. She also shared financial tips from her book “Money Rules,” which she signed for attendees following the event.

During a question and answer session, Redwood Credit Union President and CEO, Brett Martinez, discussed the importance of creating a budget and the significant savings that can be gained by loan refinancing.
